Maghreb Arabe Presse, Morocco, 11 April 2005 Summary of report from Rabat
An archaeologist group of scientists discovered two human skeletons from the pre-Islamic era in a graveyard near Mezguitam village, close to the town of Taza (320 km Northeast of Rabat), said a release of the Ministry of Culture. The skeletons, believed to belong to adults, were found side by side balled up in an embryo position facing the West. The scientists also discovered animal remnants and an ostrich egg lying between the two skeletons in what looks like a sacrifice rite. The finding will help to reveal the beliefs of the population that inhabited the region at that time. The discovery was made by the National Institute of Archaeology and Patrimony Science and the German Institute of Archaeology.
Note: The Madrid bombings claimed 200 dead and some 1,600 wounded.
