B92 Radio, Yugoslavia, 4 January 2002 Summary of report from Pristina
Senior officials of Kosovo's three major Albanian parties, the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo consulted again today in an attempt to form a coalition Government and elect a President for the province when the Parliament resumes its session on January 10th. Pristina sources say that Democratic League of Kosovo leader Ibrahim Rugova could be elected President in a second round of voting, if MPs from the other parties boycott the vote.
Note:
Kosovo is still officially a part of Yugoslavia, though both the US and Western Europe have done everything possible to detach it in preparation for establishing a second Albanian state there. Much of the Serbian population fled after persecution by Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) terrorists, most of whom infiltrated the province from Albania with NATO consent. The process of Albanization cannot be stopped, regardless of who is elected President, unless NATO policy changes.
