Summary of report from the economic desk

While conferring with the Head of the Majlis, Mehdi Karoubi, Iran's Oil Minister, Bijan Zanganeh, said that the great achievements of domestic experts in developing the South Pars gas field have frustrated America's sanctions against Iran, which proved unable to hinder the process of development.

Mentioning the fact that the tender for phases 9 and 10 of the South Pars gas field has been already taken place, he said that the implementation of these phases would in the current Iranian month of Khordad (May-June). Contracts for phases 1 to 8 of this field have already been implemented The direct investment involved totals $7.5 billion to $8 billion.

Zanganeh stressed that, according to the contracts concluded with the foreign contractors of South Pars gas field, the contractors have pledged to award projects valued at more than $3 billion to Iranian experts.

Note: It seems that US sanctions against Iran are ineffective. For this the Western contractors who disregard Government orders are fully to blame.
