The newspaper accused the Cairo governorate of working for the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) when, under the guise of cleaning up Cairo, it removed all program posters put up around the city by the Al Tagmmua party, while leaving posters supporting Mubarak's presidential candidacy untouched.

Summary of report from the governorate of Minya
In one of the governorate’s biggest examination fiascos to date, students were using hidden mobile phones to obtain answers from their parents, who paid to get the exam questions and answers 10 minutes after the exam started. Other parents simply used microphones from outside the windows of the exam rooms to make sure their children got the answers. This resulted in a state of bedlam, as students whose parents had not gone to these extremities complained about the blatantly unfair practice, accusing examiners of allowing cheating and copying of answers. However, complaints to the ministry were not taken seriously. Ministry officials reassured disbelieving parents that everything was going according to plan and there were electric fans and air conditioners in place for their children's comfort!

Summary of report
Three teachers were put on trial after they would only give students their examination entry numbers or their final school certificates for money. This surprised students, who had heard only of the sale of forged certificates, and had not thought they would have to buy their way out of school as well.
Note: The presidential election is unlikely to be fairly conducted. The usual result is that the NDP candidate gets over 90% of the vote. Should he get only 70%, all international observers would be astounded. Possibly, obvious discrimination during the polling may lead to preparations for a coup d’état.
